PM Supports More Investment from Japan to Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: On the afternoon of November 21, Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed Fumiaki Takahashi, President of the Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA), at the Peace Palace.

Mr. Takahashi thanked the PM for taking the time to allow him and his delegation to pay a courtesy call and attend the fireworks display on November 19 to celebrate 70 years of Cambodia-Japan diplomatic relations.

He said that the JCA has been encouraging Japanese small and medium-sized investors to consider Cambodia in a number of areas, including demining, transportation, technical and vocational training, vehicle repair and nursing. In addition, the association plans to open an office in Cambodia to facilitate Japanese and Cambodian businesses coordination in the near future.

Prime Minister Hun Manet thanked Mr. Takahashi and his delegation for their visit and thanked the JCA for co-organizing the fireworks display. He also thanked the Japanese government and its people for continuing to support Cambodia's socio-economic development during its search for peace and for promoting investment.

The Prime Minister welcomed even more investment from Japan to Cambodia, and informed the delegation of the benefits that come with the new investment laws and policies that incentivize investors and businesses, creating a favorable investment climate in Cambodia.
